Male Support Workers/Mental Health Support Workers

37.5 hours per week

£16,520 per annum (pro rata for part time, hourly rate £8.47)

You must be able to work flexibly, on a shift rota basis, including alternative weekends and Bank Holidays

Job Role

Support and give Time to individuals with mental health needs, promoting their Recovery within a community environment. Treat individuals with dignity and respect and give power to service users to make their own choices. Provide support in all aspects of daily living including administration of medication and support to manage finances. To ensure that the highest standard of care is maintained in accordance with Outlook Care's policies and procedures and CQC Fundamental Standards.

Person Specification

Experience of caring/supporting people with mental health needs is desirable; applications also welcomed from individuals with transferable skills. You will need to be a great team player, motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills.

The Service

Waltham Forest mental health service known as 'Contract D' Supported Living, supports adults with mental health conditions from various ages with a mixture of male and females. The service consists of self-contained one bed flats and two shared houses. We have two services in Leyton and four services in Leytonstone, which are also self-contained. There are transport links close by, along with a variety of shops.
