Mental Health/Learning Disability Support Worker
Support Workers - Leyton/Leytonstone/Walthamstow
£16,520 per annum (pro-rata for part-time, hourly rate £8.47)
30 - 37.5 hours per week
You must be able to work flexibly covering early and late shifts, some sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays
Support individuals with challenging behaviour and mental health needs with in their own flats in our supported living schemes. Treat individuals with dignity and respect and give power to service users to make their own choices, whilst providing support in aspects of daily living, including the administration of medication and support to manage finances and attend appointments.
Relevant experience is desirable, along with flexibility to work on a shift rota basis covering early and late shifts, waking nights, sleep ins, some weekends and bank holidays. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills.
Our Support Living Services are split into individual flats and accommodates both men and women, with Challenging Behaviour and Mental Health. All are lone working services; we have one staff on duty in the morning and in the afternoon. All of our residents have their own independence and no personal care is required. You will help plan and support our residents to live their life as independent as possible and assist in the house such as cooking, baking and laundry.
