Support Workers - Waltham Forest Supported Living Services
We are looking for dedicated, passionate Support Workers to join our team in our Waltham Forest Supported Living Services
Full, part time and bank opportunities available (contracts up to 45 hours per week) You must be able to work flexibly, between service locations, covering a mixture of shifts during the week & some weekends: early (07:30 -15:00) late (14:30 - 22:00) sleep ins (22:00 - 07:30) and awake nights. You will receive an hourly rate of £9.26, a range of benefits and the opportunity to work alongside a positive and motivated team.
You will be supporting individuals with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and mental health needs in their own flats, within our supported living schemes. By providing a high level of care to vulnerable people and through maintaining dignity and respect at all times, you will ensure our customers have choice and control over the service/s they receive and the activities they wish to pursue. You will provide support in aspects of the customers daily living which will include the administering of medication, supporting with finances and attending appointments. You will be required to develop and maintain strong relationships and communication links with our customers colleagues and other professionals.
Relevant experience is desirable, along with flexibility to work on a shift rota basis covering early and late shifts, waking nights, sleep ins, some weekends and bank holidays. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills. You will need to be a great team player, motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships.
We have seven separate Support Living Services in Waltham Forest and all our residents have their own independence. Each service is split into individual flats and accommodates both men and women. All are lone working services; we have one staff on duty in the morning and in the afternoon. You will help plan and support our residents to live their life as independent as possible and assist in the house with tasks such as cooking, baking and laundry.
